How does SCRIP work?

YOU CAN LOWER YOUR TUITION WITHOUT SPENDING ANYMORE THAT YOU ARE SPENDING NOW!  It's that simple.

Once enrolled you will have the ability to browse over 600 participating retailers who offer their gift cards or certificates at a discounted rate. Abiding Savior SCRIP purchases the gift cards or certificates from a national broker and local businesses in bulk amounts at that discount, and then distributes those gift cards or certificates to families at face value. The 'profit' earned is used to reduce tuition costs for the individual families that purchased the gift cards or certificates, while a small percent is kept by the organization as a fee for running the program.

An example of this is if you purchase $100 of HyVee gifts cards, You receive the $100 in gift cards PLUS $4 goes into your tuition account while $1 goes towards the school.

How do I enroll in SCRIP?

In order to participate, you enroll via a simple, user-friendly website using the link at the bottom of the page, place your orders each week and pick up your card the week following,  all the while supporting our church's school ministries.
If you are a family who CURRENTLY has a child in the ministries a percentage of the vendor contributions will be credited to your tuition.
If you are a family who wants to save for FUTURE enrollment in the school ministries a percentage of the vendor contributions will be assigned to your future tuition account.
If you simply wish to help SUPPORT A CHILD in the ministries a percentage of the vendor contributions will be assigned to our School Ministries Scholarship Fund.

As a member of the congregation, why should I participate in SCRIP?

Plain and simple, you may be giving a child the opportunity to receive God's instruction that he or she would not otherwise receive.

We currently have over 100 children enrolled in our Train Up a Child Preschool and Kindergarten, 37 enrolled in our Under Christ's Care After School Ministry, and anticipate 105 participating in our Under Christ's Care Summer School Ministry at any given time. For many of these children, the only biblical instruction they may receive comes from ministries our church provides. Ephesians 6:4 commands that children be, "brought up in the training and instruction of the Lord." James 1:27 tells us that religion God accepts as pure and faultless is to "look after orphans and widows in their distress".

Our vision, if the congregation supports SCRIP, is, in part, to allow the monies generated to be used for scholarship purposes for those who may not have the means to pay the full tuition for our ministries.
